Overview

AWSN, in partnership with Suncorp, is proud to present a unique out-of-school cybersecurity experience day designed specifically for high school girls in Brisbane (Years 7 and 8).

The day is packed with hands-on workshops, interactive activities, and career talks from real cyber security professionals giving students a taste of what a career in tech and security could look like for them.

Students will explore foundational cyber security concepts, gain practical skills, and hear directly from professionals about career pathways in this dynamic and growing field, helping them make informed decisions about their futures in tech.

Who Can Participate?

High school girls in Years 7 and 8 who identify as female and live within Australia. No experience needed — just a passion to learn! ??

Event Details

Date: Friday, 3rd July 2026

Time: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm (AEST)

Location: Suncorp Brisbane, Heritage Lanes, Ground Floor/80 Ann St, Brisbane City QLD 4000, Australia

*Please note that this is face to face event.

What to bring?

• Students must bring their own laptops with the ability to connect to Wi-Fi.

• Students may also bring a mouse and headphones.

• Meals and refreshments will be provided on-site. If your child prefers to bring their own lunch, they are welcome to do so.

Opens: Tuesday, 19th May 2026, at 2:00 pm (AEST)

Closes: Friday, 26th June 2026, at 11:59 pm (AEST) or when fully allocated.

*Only 50 participants can join, so register early! A waitlist will be available once tickets are fully allocated. If you can no longer participate, please let us know as soon as possible.

Registration Fee

Early bird: $25 + small Humanitix booking fee: available until 5 June 2026

Standard: $50 + small Humanitix booking fee: from 6 June 2026

*Important Notes*

• This event is for high school girls who identify as female and live within Australia.

• All volunteers and trainers involved at the event hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

• Any personal details collected during the registration process will be used exclusively by AWSN for communication and emergency purposes.

• For students' own safety, they will not be permitted to leave the premises of the event venue at any time during the program.

• Lunch will be provided on-site. Please inform us of any dietary requirements when you register so we can accommodate them. If your child prefers to bring their own lunch, they are welcome to do so.

• Parents are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the venue.

• There is a general no-refund policy for this event. If you are unable to attend, please inform us at [email protected] at least 48 hours before the event starts.
