AWSN proudly presents a unique, out-of-school experience day as part of our high school program, tailored specifically for girls in Years 7–8.
Overview
This experience day is designed to immerse high school girls in the world of cybersecurity through a mix of interactive workshops, hands-on activities, and career insights.
Interactive workshops
- Introduce key cybersecurity concepts and their relevance to everyday life.
- Engage students with cyber games that highlight online risks and the need for a cyber-aware society.
- Include an introductory session with discussion prompts, a presentation, and a talk led by AWSN.
Career Talks

Hear from inspiring professionals working in cybersecurity, sharing valuable insights into career pathways, roles, and the skills needed to succeed in this dynamic field.

- High school girls in Years 7–8
- No prior experience needed; just curiosity and a willingness to learn!

What to bring?
- Students must bring their own laptops with the ability to connect to Wi-Fi.
- Students may also bring a mouse and headphones.
- Snacks/Lunch and drink bottles
Important Notes
This event is for high school girls who identify as female and live within Australia.
All volunteers and trainers involved at the event hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
Any personal details collected during the registration process will be used exclusively by AWSN for communication and emergency purposes.
Light refreshments will be provided,however, it’s strongly recommended that students pack their own food and drink for this event, especially those with any specific dietary requirements.
Parents are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the venue.
