With over 20 years' experience in IT, Daniela Fernandez is a cybersecurity and analytics leader, who values integrity, diversity of thought, continuous learning, sense of achievement and a healthy work/life integration. Daniela is one of AWSN Board members and Division Director at Macquarie Group. Daniela was previously the CISO and Head of Information Security Risk at PayPal Australia. Before that, she led cyber risk and strategy at Deloitte, and held multiple roles at CBA across protective security, fraud detection, and cybersecurity. Daniela is part of the Australia CXO Tribe Steerco Committee, fostering cross industry collaboration and knowledge sharing across CISOs. Daniela’s contributions to the security community have been recognised in the industry. For three consecutive years Daniela has been one of the winners for the CSO30 Awards. In 2023 she took out top place in the Leadership category of the CSO30 Awards. Daniela has a bachelor’s degree in computer science and software engineering and a Master of IT in system security. She also holds multiple industry certifications including CISM, CRISC, CDPSE and CFE.
